Peter Bernstein & Jesse Van Ruller

Van Ruller was born in Amsterdam on 21 January 1972. He started playing the guitar at the age of seven. „He continued his studies at Miami University, Ohio (MM 1995), and in 1995 won the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Guitar Competition in Washington, DC.“

Born in New York City on September 3, 1967, Bernstein began playing piano when he was eight but switched to guitar when he was thirteen, learning the instrument primarily by ear. He studied jazz at Rutgers University with Ted Dunbar, and Kenny Barron.
